Before you start to read this article grab a piece of paper and
a pen and note down what you would like to have attained in five
and ten years time. Make sure it’s what you really want. This
piece of paper is the key to your long term future success. To
succeed you need to focus on not only short term goals and
income but to focus on your long term success. This is what is
going to drive you on through the next few years.

I knew someone who wanted to move out of her cramped apartment
into a nice house. She searched the Internet and the local real
estate offices until she found her dream home. She then got
photographs and plans of the house and placed them on the wall
behind her PC. Those photographs and what they stood for were
her focus, whenever she felt demotivated she would grab a coffee
and stare at the photographs and repeat to herself “I will have
that house” Soon she was motivated again. Just over a year later
she finalized the purchase of a similar house.

In addition to long term focus you need to consider your short
term focus. a lack of short term focus will have a negative
impact on your Long term focus. How many times do you sit down
to write an article or build a site only to answer emails of
have instant message conversations? very soon you realize you’ve
done nothing constructive and you have no time left.

Getting a simple system together will help you achieve your
short term goals. Once they are achieve then it’s just a matter
of time before you achieve those long term goals. Try a system
that will allow you to work without being interrupted by emails
and instant messages. I set aside a 2-3 hour period each morning
where I concentrate on work and nothing else. Only when that
time is up and I’ve completed my tasks will i then read and
answer emails.

Make a point of eliminating all possible distractions. If you
have pets put them outside. Take the phone off the hook and turn
off your cell phone. It is also worth explaining to your family
what you want to achieve and how they can help you by not
interrupting you when you are working. Once they know you are
working for a better future for them they should be very
supportive.

Writing this article took less than twenty minutes. I had no
distractions and focused on it 100%. If I hadn’t been able to
focus on it I know for sure that it would probably take me and
hour or so.

There is noting in this world that will stop you achieving your
goals If you want them enough. You just need patience and belief
in yourself.

In order to build a profitable website for yourself you need to
have a good plan in place as well as you carrying out lots of
preparation first. A lot of people will come up with an idea for
a website, they then buy a domain name and start to build the
site without actually thinking through what is required. Like
these people I use to have hundreds of websites and would never
concentrate on one but would instead be moving from one to the
next constantly. However now I concentrate on just 20 sites or
less and because of this I have seen a dramatic increase in my
income from them.

But to ensure that you can create and build websites which are
going to be profitable for you there are 6 steps you will need
to make. Certainly by sticking to the formula in this article
you should soon see a rapid increase in the income these sites
can earn for you. However before you actually start building any
sites it is important that you get a folder along with some
paper into which you will have sections for every site that you
want to build. Although you can actually set this up on your PC
believe me it is much easier for you as the folder is at hand at
all times right beside you as you work.

Step one is the Keyword Research stage. Here you need to think
all about the niche and what logical sections you will have. A
niche can just about any topic you can think of, you’ll also
find than many niches will have profitable sub niches which you
should also explore. For example Cars would be a good niche but
SUV’s would be a sub niche and carburretors would be another
tight sub niche. The main thing with keyword research is to find
a good mixture of keywords some of which have very little
competition and others that will challenge your promotional
skills.

The next step when it comes to creating and building a
profitable website is planning. A lot of people forget about
this stage and completely miss it out, you shouldn’t. So you now
need to get a piece of paper from your folder and jot down what
the different areas of your site are going to be. It is during
this time you need to decide just how you want your site to look
and whether you want to have sub directories within it or just
have separate sections within the site. Just by jotting down a
few things and keeping a note of these will help you in the
future as you will be able to see immediately what site models
you have used previously work well and which ones haven’t.

The building stage comes next. In the planning stage you should
have decided what tool you are going to use to build your site.
There are many available some are free others cost hundreds of
dollars. If you are just starting out I would suggest using
Wordpress as it’s free and can be easily installed from many
websites Cpanel.

Promotion is the bit where many people fall down. They do enough
to get the site indexed but then they get bored and build a new
site. STOP! You must promote your site good promotion should be
ongoing. Try to spend an hour a day for at least 2 weeks
promoting your site.

A site will only survive if it receives traffic. The traffic it
receives will come from a number of different sources. But in
order for the traffic to know about the site you need to promote
it properly. The more properly a site is promoted the more
chances are that you will start to receive traffic from search
engines. This kind of organic search traffic is completely free
and is what any good website owner should be striving to achieve.

For many webmasters monetization is their main objective in
order that they can earn an income from their sites. But the
trouble is that most of them will monetize their sites too
early. Instead what I prefer to do after building mine is leave
them alone for about 3 months before actually monetizing them.
There is no real reason to immediately add Adsense to any sites
you build as it may well affect your sites ranking and without
traffic being directed towards it you are unlikely to make any
money from it.

If you start to incorporate the these 6 basic steps into your
site building routine you soon start to see the benefit. Along
with the increased profits you find the confidence to take on
bigger and more profitable projects.
