Dan is one of Matt’s downline representatives. He’s ordered his own follow up autoresponder through Matt. Notice that the contact name and address at the end of the e-mail are Dan’s, but that the greeting at the beginning of the message still includes the name of Dan’s lead.

What Are Auto-Responders and How to Make Good Use of Them?

The keys to successful business online is developing a way to
follow-up, send promotional materials, updates and contact your prospects.

What makes it so important to your business online is an autoresponder, which will automatically send out all your emails messages for you, on whatever schedule and frequency you choose.

An auto-responder is a program/script that will sit on your website allowing your prospect to self-enroll or termed as “opt-in” into your follow-up list. Autoresponder automatically answers email sent to it. With this type of software, answering same questions or requests can be automated.

Autoresponder
can either reply immediately to emails of your clients so that they will know that you have received their message and you are going to tend to it when you’re available. Or you can send information of your products, answer questions and other fixed information about your products.

The auto-responder will send out all the messages in the sequence you set-up – without you lifting a finger.
Of course, once in a while you’ll need to send a special mailing manually. With an auto-responder, you write the email once, every person on your opt in list will receive the email.

Be sure to place a message informing your clients why they are receiving such mailings. This will prevent them from reporting your message as spam. Make sure that emails you send out clearly has a link for the person to “opt-OUT” of your list. A good auto-responder service will automatically include an opt-out, or un-subscribing link, in every email it sends. Once someone opts out, DO NOT send them another email unless they’ve signed up again – and you can prove it.

The Importance of Double Opt-in

Many people surf online and sign up for every and any list – just to collect the free information and offers. Later they forget about half of those signups – and start reporting SPAM a few days later.

To avoid being accused of spamming, even your list have opt-in once, may be not enough. And to be double safe is to use a “Double Opt in”. A double opt-in is when someone signs up for your list on your list and you ask them to CONFIRM that they REALLY want to do this.

In practice, immediately after they sign up on your site they receive another message with a link. To join in OFFICIALLY in your list, they must confirm their request by clicking that link. If they don’t click that link, they will never receive any of your offers and future emails. This double opt-in procedure protects you. You’re less likely to be reported for spamming, because people are immediately reminded that they have signed up.
